The 2015 world cup winning Australian captain feels that Rohit Sharma is the number one opener in the 50-over format and added that he is as destructive as Virat Kohli.
"He is batting unbelievably well. There was so much talk about his form coming into the world cup. He probably didn't had the greatest of IPL, which we have seen in regards to his personal batting. But again he showed how important his leadership is and that is underrated too. He is vice captain of this team(India), i love the fact that in his first opportunity to stand up for India and yesterday(in the game against Pakistan) he was in unbelievable form," Clarke told India Today.
"I probably feel, there is no doubt in my opinion that he is number one opener in ODIs in the world and he is as destructive as Virat. So that is the one advantage the Indian team has. Alot of people just talk about Virat but its not just Virat but Rohit Sharma at the top of the order can score big hundreds," he added.
